In the world of music Chris Doran is the Irish pop star who represented his native Republic of Ireland at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey.
Although not the winner of the contest his song, If My World Stopped Turning, became a hit, along with subsequent songs including Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You.
Considered as having been one of Ireland’s greatest traditional musicians, Johnny Doran was the skilled player of the Irish uilleann pipes who was born into a travelling family in Co. Wicklow in 1907.
